7 – 14 August 2021 – Camp 2
We believe every cloud has a silver lining. COVID has brought immense stress on so many families and this summer all our travel plans are curbed. We are also realising the planet is finite and we work better as one community that has common values, understanding and shared joys. Happerley Family Food Fests are all about rediscovering the genuine pleasures of life and living.
It is in this context we are hosting three intimate Festival camps to provide an inclusive and inspirational countryside and camping experience, connecting families to nature, farming, food and friendship – and above all, fun! So much more than a muddy field in an English summer!
Next Steps
1. Choose a week
There are options for three different weeks, running Saturday to Saturday (Camp 1 and 2) and Wednesday to Wednesday (Camp 3). Numbers are limited to 20 pitches, each hosting a family. Just arrive with one or two tents – and we will look after you!
2. View the sample itinerary below
If you have any questions, please call Sarah in the Happerley office on 01242 222878.
3. You book your week
We have tried to make this really affordable and good value. Our hope is to light a touch paper for Happerley Family Food Fests to operate under license across the UK next year, connecting families to food to farming and to other families – to help reconnect and share across divides, and truly value what is on our doorstep.
You first need to book a family pitch on which you can erect up to two tents – £250
Then in the shopping trolley add:
Each adult (18 yrs+) – £300
Each child 5 – 17 – £175.00
Each child under 5 – £50.00
So, for example, a family of four with two teenagers will cost £1200.
The full fee is payable on booking. However, if you would prefer to pay 50% now and 50% four weeks prior to the event, please contact Sarah on 01242 222878. Please read our Terms and Conditions.
We have tried to make this really affordable and good value. However, we are offering a limited number of assisted places to families nominated by others who have suffered exceptional hardship through COVID. We want to create life changing experience: please contact Sarah on 01242 222878 in confidence to discuss, or email in the first instance, by 30 April 2021.
4. We will contact you
Ruth Darling, the Happerley Family Food Festival organiser, will call you to find out more about your family so we can really try to meet your expectations, likes and dislikes. We want everyone’s week to be special.
We then look forward to communicating with you regularly as we want these Festivals to be memorable and special for all our guests.
There will be meet and greet webinars in May for each Camp, hosted by Adam Henson, farmer, TV presenter and Happerley brand ambassador.

We will be making the most of what is in season and grown locally or indeed on the farm. Look forward to delicacies like strawberry and elderflower sorbet, Marshfields ice cream, English Gazpachio, summer pavlova celebration, pedigree Gloucester beef burgers, artisan English cheeses, salads grown in our own garden.
Continental and hot Breakfast Boxes can be pre-ordered the day before from menu tick box list, and are ready from 8am for campers to collect and pour themselves a hot drink to take away.
There will be a concession available for all our guests for take-away food boxes from our food and drink producers.
